This course offers an innovative way of meeting the challenges of finding solutions to a range of public health issues and promoting publicly funded arts organisations.<br/><br/><br/>- Amongst only a handful of courses offered nationally, our course offers a distinctly art-based MA rooted in art practice with dedicated studio spaces in a traditional art school setting.<br/><br/><br/>- Students will learn how arts in health activities complement biomedical models of healthcare through a holistic and ‘person-centred’ approach to interventions facilitated through art (including visual arts, music, performing arts, design etc.) and will benefit from our strong connections with the local health board, local county art officers and third sector organisations for effective placements. <br/><br/><br/>- Co-produced with Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board’s Arts in Health and Wellbeing co-ordinator who will act as an advisor, this course also has input from two experienced arts in health researchers with national influence and expertise to provide strategic direction and a national platform for the course.<br/><br/><br/>Key Course Features <br/>- Civic engagement is at the heart of this programme which will equip students with research and entrepreneurial skills needed to sustain themselves in work within an ethos of fostering a sustainable society mindful of environmental and civic responsibility or our future.<br/><br/><br/>- Students will be working within the arts in health field in real-life settings, supported by research in the faculty.<br/><br/><br/>- Students will be able to access dedicated studio spaces in a traditional art school setting.<br/><br/><br/>- Students will have the opportunity to either set up their own work placement or volunteer on a pre-existing project led by a professional artist.<br/><br/><br/>- Placement opportunities organised by Wrexham University include; Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board (BCUHB) hospitals, Theatre Clwyd, Denbighshire Arts Dementia Group, Ty Pawb, cARTefu: a National Art in Care Home Mentoring Programme & MOSTYN Gallery, Llandudno.<br/>
