Animal Management (Zoo and Wildlife Conservation) - Top-Up BSc

This course was previously offered by Writtle University College prior to the merger with ARU in March 2024. This course will run on the ARU Writtle campus.<br/><br/>This award is aimed at those individuals who hold a relevant level 5 award and who wish to develop a career in animal collections and wildlife management with a robust grounding in scientific principles relevant to the industry. Animals kept in a captive environment have complex needs and requirements and understanding of these growing needs is important to all who work within the industry. The research priorities, enclosure design, education, the ex situ conservation, ecosystem approach, biological diversity and adaptive management are some of the themes learners will be exposed to. <br/><br/>This course aims to provide the student with an understanding of possible contributors to animal welfare; thus, enabling the individual to contribute positively to the zoo industry and wildlife conservation. The development of excellent communication skills will be a key graduate attribute for students who have undertaken this award.<br/><br/>This one-year Top-Up option is equivalent to Year 3 of our BSc (Hons) Animal Management (Zoo and Wildlife Conservation), and will allow you to top-up your existing qualification to a full degree.
