Equine Sports Therapy and Rehabilitation (with Foundation Year) BSc (Hons)

This course was previously offered by Writtle University College prior to the merger with ARU in March 2024. This course will run on the ARU Writtle campus.<br/><br/>Studying for a degree with an integrated foundation year will offer you a supportive environment if you have been out of education for a few years or do not have the necessary UCAS points from your recent course of study. The foundation year (Year 0) will precede our standard 3-year degree course programmes and enables preparation for degree study, with successful completion granting direct access to the undergraduate course of your choice at Writtle University College. <br/><br/>After completing the foundation year, you will progress to the BSc (Hons) Equine Sports Therapy & Rehabilitation. This course is designed to provide students with an exceptional knowledge of many aspects of sport horse performance. Including detailed levels of anatomy & physiology, and factors affecting performance such as saddlery, farriery and biomechanics.<br/><br/>As a student at ARU Writtle you’ll have access to the Equine Training and Development Centre, which offers extensive facilities including a working stable yard, riding arenas and an equine therapy barn. There are around 70 horses on campus, and you’re able to bring your own horse to university too if you wish.<br/><br/>Our course is accredited by the Animal Health Professions Register (AHPR), and prepares you to provide health services that protect animal welfare, as well as the interests of owners and referring professionals, such as veterinary surgeons.<br/><br/>As a graduate, you’ll be ready to work in an exciting and evolving part of the equine industry.
