**Course Overview** <br/><br/>Do you see yourself with a career in Early Childhood Education and Care, helping to inspire young minds, expose them to the joys of learning, and give them the foundation for lifelong success? <br/><br/>**Key Features**<br/><br/>You will gain a deep understanding of babies and children from birth to six years of age and will gain the skills and knowledge to work with children and their families during their crucial early childhood years <br/><br/>Early Childhood Education and Care includes a requirement of 525 cumulative hours’ work placement or experience in early education and/care settings over the two-year period of the qualification. <br/><br/>The specialist modules are designed to provide a specific occupational focus to the Early Childhood Education and Care qualifications and are aligned to professional body standards. <br/><br/>**Course Content** <br/><br/>On the course you will have the chance to learn about the specific tools that help a young child to learn something that will benefit them the rest of their lives. <br/><br/>Unit 1 Personal and Professional Development through Reflective Practice <br/>Unit 2 Protecting Children in Early Education and Care Environments <br/>Unit 3 Play and Learning in Early Childhood <br/>Unit 4 Supporting and Promoting Childrens Development (Babies and Toddlers) 15 4 <br/>Unit 5 Supporting and Promoting Childrens Development (Young Children) <br/>Unit 6 Promoting Healthy Living <br/>Unit 7 Preparing for Research (Pearson-set) <br/>Unit 8 Promoting Inclusive Early Education and Care Environments <br/><br/>**Entry Requirements** <br/><br/>Entry requirements for Early Childhood Education and Care is 32 UCAS Tariff points. <br/>A BTEC Level 3 Early Years Educator (or related subject) qualification <br/><br/>Related work experience <br/><br/>Other related Level 3 qualifications <br/>A Minimum of 4 GCSEs at grade 4/C or above in English Language and Maths is also expected. Level 2 equivalents also considered. <br/><br/>Mature applicants with other qualifications or non-formal qualifications are welcome to apply. This includes working in Children’s Centres, schools, nurseries, Social Services, Local Authority support teams, and charitable organisations. The course sets you up with a range of knowledge, skills, and abilities that will allow you to apply your learning confidently in your future career. <br/><br/>On successful completion of the Early Childhood Education and Care qualification you may be eligible to progress into the second or third year of a subject related degree at a University, complete a higher-level apprenticeship, enter or continue in employment such as: <br/><br/>Nursery Practitioner <br/>Play Worker within NHS <br/>Teacher (following further higher education study) <br/>Trainee SEN Worker
