The BA (Hons) Creative Practice has been meticulously designed to shape you into a confident, professional and self-reflective individual, capable of meeting the demands of the ever-evolving creative industries. You will be part of a busy, thriving creative community, where cross-disciplinary consideration and collaboration is encouraged. BSoA programmes delivered at Level 4 and Level 5 are structured to share delivery in key, foundational skills and knowledge, supporting students to develop broad skill sets and a sensitivity to the broader creative industry and contexts. This programme continues that ethos, with dedicated, specialist input to ensure you reach your potential in your chosen field, but also shared delivery to foster that creative empathy for other subjects and to give you the exposure to skills and opportunities outside your comfort zone.

Youll dive into three modules that cultivate a balance of discipline focused and transferable skills, mixing with students from across disciplines and using this to focus and develop your specialist knowledge, skills and behaviours. Giving you to the tools to specialise in your chosen field while also developing those much sought-after transferable skills that employers seek, as well as giving you the freedom to explore materials, techniques and processes outside your specialism. With the support of an expert team, who will guide your creative development and exploration, you will explore your creative identity and how you can launch into industry.

The Negotiated Professional Project module (NPP), is your chance to propose and develop a project of high quality and showcase the breadth and depth of your developing skill set. Driven by focused research, creative enquiry and critical analysis, this project will form a significant part of your work for the academic year and will give you the ability to showcase your creative capacity. With support from your subject specialist tutor, academic supervisor, and resource assistants, you will negotiate outcomes for the module which will include both written and creative elements.

Launch Pad is designed to equip you with the knowledge and skills necessary to develop a professional identity and effectively promote yourself within the creative industries. You will explore and practice enterprise processes, understand professional responsibilities, and identify key industry trends and employment opportunities. Exploring the skills needed to plan and manage the promotion of you as a creative practitioner. Developing your understanding of what it takes to stand out and to be a successful creative practitioner across a range of fields.

The Real World module is designed to immerse you in the real creative world and to equip you with the essential knowledge and skills to develop, plan, and execute a live, industry-focused brief or competition project. Each year, the briefs will be unique, set by an industry-based employer or a national competition provider. You will choose from a suit of creative briefs set, either by our industry collaborators, or from one of the national or international competition brief
providers, such as D&AD, YCN, Association of Photographers, Association of Illustrators and many more. The module will push you to be globally aware and to tackle themes such as ethics and sustainability, along with consideration of AI, embracing the challenges of the contemporary creative industries.

Were committed to providing an inclusive learning environment that fosters the growth and development of all our students, regardless of their background and we take your learning experience to the next level by connecting you with industry contacts and offering real-world learning opportunities, all facilitated by our course team who are actively involved in the industry themselves.
