Your course provides you with opportunities to engage in practical learning through work placements, and field trips, offering you a first hand look at the criminal justice system and psychological services. Practitioners and industry experts from a range of multidisciplinary agencies will provide insights into real life challenges of the justice and penal system. Depending on your<br/>choice of career pathway, the Criminology and Criminal Justice with Psychology programme is also designed to prepare you for postgraduate life, whether as a practitioner in the criminal justice field, an academic researcher or criminal justice policy maker.<br/><br/>To start your exciting journey on this course you will be begin with a Level 4 Certificate in Higher Education in Criminology and Criminal Justice (CertHE) which will help you to explore the core principles of psychology, the foundations of criminological theory and the workings of the criminal justice system. Once you have successfully completed the CertHE, you will have the option to join the Level 5 (second year) of the Criminology and Criminal Justice with<br/>Psychology degree programme. This will allow you to explore the relationship between crime, psychology and human behaviour in depth. Then in your final year you will apply the theories you have learnt to investigate a topic of your choice and carry out a large scale empirical research.
