It will provide a supportive university environment where you can grow in confidence and develop the knowledge and academic skills that you need to study at undergraduate level.<br/><br/>The Foundation Year will prepare you for future study and will be the first Year of a four-year degree journey for Adult Nursing, Child Nursing, Mental Health Nursing, Social Work, Diagnostic Radiography, Operating Department Practice, Occupational Therapy, Paramedic Science, and Physiotherapy.<br/>Upon successful completion, you will be in a strong position to progress onto your chosen degree with a sound understanding of core health and wellbeing concepts and the essential study and communication skills needed for the next step in your academic journey.<br/><br/>Following successful completion of the foundation year you will progress onto the Adult Nursing degree will enable you to become a critically aware, creative, competent nurse who places the person and their family at the centre of everything you do.<br/><br/>Through problem-based learning you will explore all aspects of modern nursing. You will become a politically aware patient advocate and health activist with a strongly held belief in equality. You will learn to work autonomously, and be a joint decision maker with service users, their families and other health care providers. You will develop your leadership using expert communication skills, problem solving and personal resilience to improve the health and wellbeing of people within the local and global community
