The course encourages students to explore innovative and modernistic ideas whilst gaining blended skills in art, design and technology. <br/><br/>This is a Level 4 stand alone qualification that is the first year of our Degree Programmes. The course can be studied on a full-time basis over one academic year, or part-time over two years and will enable those students who are unable to commit to studying a full BA Honours degree to have an understanding of, and learn the basic skills required in 3D Design & Virtual Reality.<br/><br/>Developed from the emergent technologies of an evolving creative industry, you will be encouraged to explore innovative ideas whilst gaining blended skills in art, design and technology. Capture, creation and output of 3D digital models and environments, with particular focus on VR platforms and an emphasis on skills. The course focuses on a variety of practical projects that include 3D modelling, animation, virtual and augmented reality, creating outcomes for a variety of contemporary platforms.<br/><br/>You can expect a varied programme of assignments that highlight the importance of technical skills within the industry. Students have access to excellent facilities with high spec computer suites with the latest versions of industry standard software and cutting-edge resources including VR equipment, hand-held 3D laser scanner, photogrammetry equipment and professional 360 cameras. And with small class sizes, students have plenty of access to these facilities.<br/><br/>The programme ensures that students demonstrate a good basic understanding of 3D Design & Virtual Reality applications relevant to the industry,<br/><br/>The applications of skills are numerous, from creating assets for the video game industry and VFX to digital reconstruction for the heritage sector.
