This degree will teach you the technical and aesthetic skills you need to produce, communicate and implement effective fashion marketing campaigns. You’ll learn the theories that underpin marketing principles and develop technical communication and aesthetic skills to help you produce effective marketing strategies. You’ll also discover how communications are fundamental to brand positioning and consumer perception. <br/><br/>Through lectures, seminars, tutorials, workshops and projects, you’ll develop the essential marketing and communications skills required to succeed in the fashion industry. <br/><br/>You will: <br/>• Learn the theory behind fashion marketing and retailing, and develop a critical understanding of the fashion retail landscape <br/><br/><br/><br/>• Be assigned a personal industry mentor to work with throughout the course <br/><br/><br/><br/>• Develop digital skills in a fashion context, including social media strategy, blogging, publishing and web design <br/><br/><br/><br/>• Examine new media communication campaigns used to generate awareness and sales for fashion businesses <br/><br/><br/><br/>• Build your knowledge and skills to develop fashion-focused PR strategies, and learn how to manage a brand’s image through PR strategies <br/><br/><br/><br/>• Study the cultural, social and economic factors that influence consumer behaviour <br/><br/><br/><br/>• Take part in masterclasses, work on projects and complete work placements with our industry partners<br/><br/><br/><br/>• Examine the rise of technology, sustainability and corporate social responsibility and how these affect the industry at all levels <br/><br/><br/><br/>• Complete a self-directed Personal Professional Project that allows you to demonstrate your skills and knowledge, and contextualise these in alignment with your career goals <br/><br/><br/><br/>Industry Enrichment <br/><br/>We work with over 140 brands at the FRA. Our courses include practical, industry-focused content taught by some of fashion’s biggest names to give you valuable skills and work experience. <br/><br/>Industry enrichment opportunities include: <br/><br/>Industry mentorship scheme: Work with your own dedicated industry mentor throughout your course. You’ll meet a minimum of once a term, and they’ll be there to support and guide you. <br/><br/>Work placements: You’ll have a work placement with one of our brand partners each year. In the first year of your undergraduate degree, you’ll complete a three-week work placement. In your second year, your work placement will be either 3 weeks full time or two days a week over 3 months. <br/><br/>Talks, masterclasses and live industry projects: Attend talks and masterclasses led by some of the top names in fashion and retail, and complete projects set by industry partners who will give you feedback and advice.

Due to the creative nature of our courses, you will be considered on your own individual merit and potential to succeed. We encourage you to get in touch if you are predicted points below this range, thinking about transferring from another institution, or if you have other qualifications or professional experience as we may be able to consider you. If English is not your first language, we accept a range of recognised language qualifications that are equivalent to the IELTS Academic minimum score of 6.0 overall, with a minimum of 5.5 in Reading, Writing, Speaking and Listening. If you require a Tier 4 student visa to study in the UK, you must take an approved Secure English Language Test (SELT) to fulfil government visa requirements.
