Combining the latest academic thinking with insight, strategy, AI tools and content development, this programme prepares you to thrive in the growing industries of advertising, branding, PR and the expanding creator economy.</strong><br/><br/><br/>• This is a four-year degree. If you successfully achieve the progression requirements of the Foundation Year, youll progress onto Year 1 of our full-time degree in Promotional Media.<br/><br/><br/><br/>• There are no formal entry requirements for this programme, you just need to demonstrate a lively interest in the world of the media – so its an ideal choice if youre returning to education or dont have the qualifications to apply directly to the BA Promotional Media: PR, Advertising and Branding .<br/><br/><br/><br/>During the foundation year:<br/>• Youll develop an understanding of media theory and media practice, and the confidence, skills and creative foundation to thrive at undergraduate level.<br/><br/><br/><br/>• Youll be introduced to a broad spectrum of critical perspectives on the media and a range of contemporary media practices.<br/><br/><br/><br/>• Youll develop your skills in creative approaches to media and communications.<br/><br/><br/><br/>• The programme includes a study skills module, where youll get to develop your academic writing and research skills.<br/><br/><br/><br/>• Youll be taught by highly experienced tutors and technicians in studio settings, using the same industry-standard facilities as the undergraduate degrees.<br/><br/><br/><br/>On successful completion of the foundation year, youll progress onto Year 1 of the degree<br/>• You’ll study in the School of Media, Communications and Cultural Studies, ranked third in the UK in the QS World University Rankings by Subject (2024) and globally recognised as a leader in the subject.<br/><br/><br/><br/>• Based in London, you’ll be surrounded by the world’s largest and most important media companies and brands, with significant opportunities for networking and developing your career.<br/><br/><br/><br/>• Gain real agency experience, including opportunities at TCO London and other agencies working with leading global brands.<br/><br/><br/><br/>• Master video, social strategy and content production to build the skills employers actively seek.<br/><br/><br/><br/>• Critically interrogate the role of fashion, AI, influencers and other promotional practices in a dynamic media landscape.<br/><br/><br/><br/>• Examine the role of art, video, and media in promotion, past and present.<br/><br/><br/><br/>• This degree is interdisciplinary, and youll evaluate the impact of promotional activity culturally, sociologically economically and politically.<br/><br/><br/><br/>• Benefit from a host of elective modules including podcasting, photography, film, magazine journalism and many more.<br/><br/><br/><br/>• Learn in small groups from industry experts in media, communications, brand, advertising and beyond.
