<strong>The programs objectives include:</strong> <br/><br/>Developing skills and knowledge commensurate with an undergraduate degree programme in health and social care <br/>Equipping students with transferable academic skills and knowledge applicable to the health and social care sector <br/>Providing students with a critical appreciation of current statutory frameworks, legislation and professional codes of practice in health and social care<br/>Preparing students for employment within the health and social care sector <br/>Developing academic rigour and the ability to source and use a range of academic and professional journals. <br/>Equip students with a specialist knowledge of the health and social care sector and the opportunities for career progression and professional development<br/>To develop clinical and practise-based decision-making skills in order to provide high quality health and social care to a range of service users.<br/><br/>In summary, the program is designed to offer a comprehensive educational experience, not only focusing on academic foundations but also ensuring students are well-prepared and adapted to meet the dynamic nature of the health and social care sector. <br/>The teaching throughout this program will be delivered through lectures, seminars, group study, E-learning, scenario-based case studies, directed study and discussions/focus groups, debates, the use of digital technologies such as Virtual Reality and role play.<br/>Assessment methods will include essays and a reflective journal on a therapeutic role play.<br/><br/>This program will provide students with the knowledge and skills to develop themselves as a Health and Social Care Practitioner in preparation for future employment or study.<br/><br/>This will be achieved using various teaching and assessment methods and digital technology throughout the programme, whilst working in collaboration with the Open University.<br/><br/>This qualification has been tailored to meet the needs of local employers, modules have been developed and incorporated to support bridging the gap between local education centres and employers within the Health and Social Care Sectors. The college aims to continue to widen participation within the local area, supporting local students into education. Providing opportunities for individuals from the community to contribute to their local Health and Social Care Sector employment shortage.<br/><br/>At the College and University centre, students will have access to digital resources and support from the digital team. Students will experience learning through virtual reality with the use of oculus headsets, the virtual anatomage table and the interactive education dolls.<br/><br/>The Health and Social Care Department have also received funding for a new simulation centre which has been designed to meet the plan of digital education and training within the NHS. This will allow students to become familiar with the potential surroundings of the settings students may encounter when progressing into employment.
