Our Computer Science BSc course equips you with an in-depth understanding of the field of computer-based information systems, how they are created and their impact on society. Youll study a wide range of innovative modules, honing your analytical and practical skills, including becoming proficient across diverse software platforms and programming languages.<br/><br/>The course will also enhance your understanding of computer sciences changing role in an increasingly complex, digital world, covering vital social, legal, professional and ethical responsibilities. This ensures you graduate with a well-rounded skillset, opening the door to a wide range of future-focused careers.<br/><br/>Throughout your degree, you’ll apply your skillset to tackle complex projects inspired by real-world industry problems. This could involve developing a tech solution for an external company in your third year.<br/><br/>You can also choose to study for our integrated Master’s course (MSci), adding a fourth year to your degree during which you will undertake a substantial project of your choice, tackling a research problem or taking part in our programme with Amazon Web Services (AWS), where you will use their software to develop a new product for a UK local authority or charity partner.<br/><br/>Accreditation<br/><br/>This degree has been accredited by the BCS, the Chartered Institute for IT. Accreditation is a mark of assurance that the degree meets the standards set by the BCS. An accredited degree entitles you to professional membership of the BCS, which is an important part of the criteria for achieving Chartered IT Professional (CITP) status through the Institute. The Access to Higher Education Diploma must be 60 credits in total. Access to Higher Education Diploma with 45 Level 3 credits overall: 42 credits must be from units awarded at Distinction, with 3 at Merit. The Access to Higher Education Diploma must be in a relevant subject - Computing, Mathematics, Science, or similar - and must include at least 15 Level 3 credits in Mathematics awarded at Distinction.

39 points overall or an aggregate score of 20 from three Higher Levels. Must include grade 6 in Higher Level Mathematics or Further Mathematics. Notes: The total point score of 39 includes TOK/EE. IB students studying the new Maths curriculum would be required to study either Analysis and Approaches or Applications and Interpretation at Higher Level to meet the subject requirement for this programme.
