Drama and Religion, Theology & Spirituality BA (Hons)

Please note that Combined Honours degrees at Liverpool Hope University are split 50/50. This means both subjects will be studied equally.<br/><br/>Drama<br/><br/>As part of Liverpool Hope’s world-class creative community you will have the opportunity to develop practical skills including acting, directing, devising, applied theatre, and solo performance. You will make performances and present ideas verbally, as well as improving your skills in critical and reflective writing. We also make full use of the many theatres in Liverpool, and you will spend time watching and reviewing work from the Everyman and Playhouse, as well as our own Capstone Theatre.<br/><br/>The degree is taught at the Creative Campus near Liverpool city centre, giving you the benefit of a small campus experience that is supportive of big ambitions. Throughout your studies you will be asked to explore performance in relation to contemporary social and ethical contexts, helping you understand the critical place of performance in 21st-century society.<br/><br/><strong>Religion, Theology & Spirituality</strong><br/><br/>Religious Studies at Liverpool Hope explores the practice and significance of religion in contemporary society through the study of Christianity, Judaism, Islam, and Indic traditions such as Buddhism and Hinduism. A balance between the study of religious texts and lived religion in the contemporary world is maintained throughout the degree.<br/><br/>Throughout your studies, you will analyse and contextualise the theology behind key religions to appreciate their history and their relevance to the social and political landscape. All of our teaching is research-informed and you will be taught by highly-qualified academics, all of whom have a PhD in the area, who are both active and published researchers and committed teachers.
