Amongst a team of skilled healthcare professionals – including doctors and nurses – physiotherapists independently identify, assess and analyse physical problems caused by injury, illness or ageing and treat them by taking a holistic approach using skills such as manual therapy, exercise or therapeutic handling. <br/><br/>Based in our Department of Health Professions, our foundation year programme incorporates the core values of the NHS constitution to help prepare you for the challenges of working as a physiotherapist in contemporary healthcare. You’ll build a strong foundation in key areas like human sciences, research, and professional skills, while developing the academic confidence and study techniques essential for university-level learning. <br/><br/>With innovative teaching methods and support, you’ll explore a range of health and wellbeing topics, helping you to understand the role of physiotherapy in addressing real-world health challenges. <br/>After successfully completing the Foundation Year (Level 3), you’ll progress onto our BSc (Hons) Physiotherapy programme, continuing through Levels 4, 5 and 6. <br/><br/>**Features and benefits**<br/><br/><br/>- **Approved course**- Our Physiotherapy course has been approved by the Health and Care Professions Council and the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy. Graduates are eligible to apply for registration with the HCPC.
