The ‘required units’ make sure that the core elements are in place. The ‘elective units’ allow you to choose areas of particular interest from the full range of units on offer. Although all ‘required units’ are available each year, many ‘elective units’ are available on a two-year cycle. Youth and Community and Practical Theology streams also available. Students will receive a minimum of 120 credits while on this course and core modules include: Introduction to Theology and Biblical Studies, Story of God, Church History, Christian Doctrine, Spiritual Formation, Christian Holiness, a range of Old and New Testament subjects, and Practical and Social Theology electives.

The Certificate in Theology offers a great foundation in theological education as a preparation for Christian service. With full-time and flexible part-time routes available the Certificate can be studied over one year (full-time) or two years (part-time). Students may wish to exit with this qualification or use it as the first level towards completion of the degree.

Nazarene Theological College is an approved partner of The University of Manchester, delivering programmes developed by Nazarene Theological College, approved by and leading to an award of the University of Manchester.
