The curriculum covers key engineering topics like analogue and digital electronics, embedded systems, data communications, automation and control, and power systems. You’ll sharpen mathematical skills that are vital for engineering applications. Additionally, through a work-based project you will apply your existing and newly acquired skills to a practical challenge. Overall, the program will equip you with the knowledge, understanding and transferable skills to reach your professional goals in this fast-changing field.<br/><br/><strong>Careers</strong><br/>Electronics design engineer - Design electronic components, circuits, devices and systems. Work for electronics manufacturers, defense contractors, telecom companies, etc.<br/><br/>Embedded systems engineer - Develop the electronics and software for embedded devices and systems e.g. medical devices, automotive electronics, mobile devices.<br/><br/>Communications engineer - Work on devices and infrastructure for broadcasting, telecommunications, satellite, network and computer communications.<br/><br/>Electronic test engineer - Test electronic systems, circuits and devices to ensure proper functioning and adherence to specifications.<br/><br/>Control systems engineer - Design, develop, program, test and maintain industrial control systems used in plants, factories, etc.<br/><br/>Signal processing engineer - Focus on analysing and manipulating analog and digital signals using methods like filtering, sampling, compressing, etc.<br/><br/>Avionics engineer - Design and integrate the electronics systems used in aircraft, spacecraft and related systems. Work for aerospace companies.<br/><br/>Acoustics engineer - Focus on the generation, propagation and control of sound waves. Work in product design, noise control, architectural acoustics, etc.<br/><br/>Sales engineer - Use technical expertise to sell electronic products and services.
