Culinary Arts Management with Placement BSc (Hons)

Are you passionate about food and drink? Whether you want to manage a restaurant, become a private chef, or develop new food products, this course will teach you the technical and professional skills you need for a career in culinary arts management.<br/>While studying, you will benefit from valuable hands-on experience working with leading industry professionals. You will learn a range of kitchen and patisserie techniques and study areas such as food microbiology, diet, nutrition, and gastronomy. <br/>In addition, we will help you to develop the business and people skills needed to become a successful manager within the food industry.<br/>Our courses offer opportunities to discuss current issues and examine solutions from a sector perspective. These include chances to:<br/>• work alongside renowned industry professionals on events through UWL’s celebrity guest demonstration and speaker schedule<br/>• gain valuable insights from leading sector providers by attending our programme of talks and workshops <br/>• benefit from additional off-site learning at leading establishments in London and surrounding areas through participation in industry events, visits and placement<br/>• raise your personal profile within the industry by participating in national and international competitions.<br/><br/>Study options<br/>As well as choosing a regular full-time 3-year degree, this course can be studied with the following option:<br/>Placement*<br/>Who is it for: The placement route for this course is open to UK and international students.<br/>As part of the UKVI guidance for international students, all students must complete a 50 week full-time placement to reach a total of 1750 hours, including leave.<br/>Placements are coordinated with the Placements Office. A placement coordinator and placement tutors will assist you with preparing for the placement, monitor your placement, support you with the assessment and throughout your placement.<br/>Please note: There is no guarantee that you will be successful in securing a placement in the UK. If you are unable to secure a placement/internship opportunity, the University will transfer you to the non-internship/placement route.
