We are seeking accreditation for this course to be a HTQ.<br/><br/>**This new, practice-based Higher Technical Qualification (HTQ) is aimed at those already working in a health or social care setting who want to move into a more specialist role as an associate continuing healthcare practitioner.**<br/><br/>Associate continuing healthcare practitioners play a key role in assessing an individual’s complex health and social care needs arising from disability, accident or illness and developing a package of care that meets their needs. This entails working with a multi-professional team that includes nurses, doctors and social workers, where you act as an expert guide to the specialist regulations that apply to continuing healthcare.<br/><br/>This course has been specially developed by the University of Bedfordshire to prepare you for employment in this specialist role. You also develop essential skills in offering support, care and advice when acting as first point of contact for your clients, their carers and family.<br/><br/>The course is suitable for those already employed in a health or social care role - such as carers in community or residential settings - or have a minimum of two years’ experience in the field.<br/><br/>**What is an HTQ?**<br/>HTQs are a new qualification equivalent to a HNC or Higher Apprenticeship and approved by the Institute for Apprenticeships and Technical Education.
