Our BSc Chemistry with Sustainability course is aimed at students interested in learning how chemistry is central to establishing a more sustainable future.

Alongside core chemistry concepts, you will learn how chemists design new materials for energy storage and conversion, develop alternative fuel sources and meet the challenges of recycling a diverse range of materials, from lithium-ion batteries through to plastics. Offer will depend on subject combination. A level Chemistry. Minimum Mathematics requirement GCSE grade 6. You must also pass the practical element of any reformed science A levels which include Biology, Chemistry and Physics taught from 2015. General Studies, Critical Thinking and Use of Maths are not accepted.

6,6,6 - 6,6,5 at Higher Level, including Chemistry at Higher Level, with a minimum of 32 points overall. One or more additional science subjects at Higher Level is advantageous. A minimum of 5 at Standard Level English and 4 at Standard Level Maths is required for those students who do not have a minimum of grade C in English at GCSE and of grade B in Maths at GCSE.

Pearson BTEC Level 3 National Extended Diploma (first teaching from September 2016)

BTEC only considered when combined with other qualifications.

Cambridge International Pre-U Certificate - Principal

Accepted in place of A levels with the following grade equivalencies: D2 = A*; D3 = A; M2 = B. Combinations of A levels and Principle subjects are accepted. NB required subjects must be offered (see A level Section)

Welsh Baccalaureate - Advanced Skills Challenge Certificate (first teaching September 2015)

Accepted in place of a non-required A level with the equivalent grade.
