The Education programme focuses on education as a dynamic process of human, cultural, and social development, drawing from psychology, sociology, philosophy, and history. The Sociology programme offers in-depth analysis of social relationships, power dynamics, and societal change, equipping you to understand and address complex social challenges.<br/><br/><strong>The Education Programme</strong><br/>On the education course you will learn about education as a dynamic process of human, cultural, economic, and social development that is fundamental to a changing, globalised world. Education combines ideas and research from a number of pathways including psychology, sociology, philosophy and history. <br/><br/><strong>The Sociology Programme</strong><br/>On the sociology course you will critically and comparatively analyse major sociological topics, such as: the relationships between individuals, groups, institutions and wider social processes; the dynamics of stability and change; and the distribution of power.<br/><br/><strong>Why study this course?</strong><br/>• Vocational placement - The BA Education and Sociology programme includes a placement in your second year so that you can apply your knowledge to work with children and young people in a professional setting. <br/><br/><br/><br/>• Modules to suit your own interests - our extensive range of compulsory and optional modules will allow you to build a programme to suit your own interests and career aspirations. <br/><br/><br/><br/>• Option to study overseas - you will have the option to study overseas at one of our partner institutions. <br/><br/><br/><br/>Please note that a range of different placement and dissertation options are available to students on this programme, and for some of these options you may need to have a DBS check. If necessary, support will be provided to complete the process at the appropriate point in the programme.
