From studying the quantum interactions of sub-atomic particles to the vast celestial bodies that make up the night sky, youll master advanced physics in a friendly and supportive environment.<br/><br/>Graduate with an integrated Masters degree in Physics from Birmingham and your choice of careers will be wide open. Learn about quantum mechanics, optics and particle physics. Join us and build problem-solving, programming, mathematical, teamwork and experimental skills.<br/><br/>Develop an advanced understanding of the laws that make up the natural world. Choose from topics such as quantum mechanics, nuclear physics, chaos and dynamical systems and the life and death of stars. During your final year you’ll join a research group and apply your knowledge to an individual project, developing high-level research skills.<br/><br/>Our academics are global experts in their fields, and you’ll benefit from using state-of-the-art study spaces, computing suites and laboratories. Our research spaces include our own particle accelerators, the MC40 cyclotron for charged particles and HF-ADNeF, the most intense accelerator driven neutron source worldwide, as well as labs used for the construction of the detectors and electronics in experiments at the Large Hadron Collider, CERN.<br/><br/>As a Birmingham Physics graduate, youll have a broad range of options for the future either working directly in a scientific environment or using transferable skills in different roles.
