Our Creative Writing degree takes an inclusive and encouraging approach and will help you develop your creativity, drawing on our diverse city as inspiration.<br/><br/>We encourage you to apply critical reading and creative skills to innovative writing practices. Covering a variety of genres, you will study techniques and develop expertise that you will apply to work-based scenarios including publishing.<br/><br/>Guided by supportive tutors, you will consider key texts and connect your work to political, social and cultural theories. Our teaching will take you into museums, galleries, theatres, archives, the countryside and city.<br/><br/>There are opportunities to work with publishers and acclaimed writers. Regular events include our Scrivener Series of writer workshops and spoken word nights.<br/><br/>At the end of year 1 you can choose a specialist subject that complements your degree or to carry on with the broader Creative Writing degree.<br/><br/><br/>- Creative Writing with Wellbeing BA(Hons)<br/><br/><br/>- Creative Writing with Comics and Graphic Novels BA(Hons)*<br/><br/><br/>*The comics and graphic novels pathway is new for 2024.
