**Course Overview**<br/><br/>Fascinated by aircraft, spacecraft and their technologies? Our Aerospace Engineering with Foundation Year degree is the course for you. You’ll work on a range of vehicles for design, analysis, simulation and test. <br/><br/>**Why study with us**<br/><br/><br/>- You’ll work creatively on an aerospace-related subject for your research project and you’ll get involved with unmanned air vehicles (UAVs) for civil applications. <br/><br/><br/>- A group design project will give you valuable experience in team working and development processes. <br/><br/><br/>- During your studies youll benefit from significant investment in the latest high quality facilities available, including state-of-the-art software tools, flight simulators, subsonic and supersonic wind tunnels and a UAV Lab.<br/><br/><br/>**What you’ll do** <br/><br/><br/>- This course offers an optional 48-week sandwich placement in industry between the second and third years. <br/><br/><br/>- You’ll access lectures and masterclasses on topics such as the effective use of computer-aided design software, computational fluid dynamics, and finite element analysis. <br/><br/><br/>- You’ll be encouraged to join the Royal Aeronautical Society and to participate in local branch events alongside your studies. <br/><br/><br/>**Accreditations** <br/><br/><br/>- This BEng course is professionally accredited by the IMechE (which represents mechanical engineers and the engineering profession) as meeting partial fulfilment of the educational requirements to become a Chartered Engineer.<br/><br/><br/>- This BEng course is accredited by the Institution of Engineering Designers as meeting the academic requirement for membership and registration for Incorporated Engineer and partially meeting Chartered Engineer with the Engineering Council.<br/><br/><br/>**Future careers** <br/><br/>Aerospace Engineering graduates go on to roles in the aerospace, space, defence, automotive, biotechnology, computing, electronics, energy and manufacturing sectors.
