**Course overview**<br/><br/>The BA (Hons) Textiles Design course has a vibrant hands-on approach. Youll explore a wide range of textile techniques and surface pattern design. With a strong emphasis on experimentation.<br/><br/>**Why study with us**<br/><br/><br/>- Youll have the opportunity to work with a variety of industry partners on live project briefs to develop your professional skills and for you to gain an understanding of the industry. <br/><br/><br/>- We have a British Fashion Council membership. The BFC Colleges Council represents the leading fashion departments in universities and colleges throughout the UK.<br/><br/><br/>- Students have gone to be featured artists in Embroidery Magazine, design for fashion and interiors and showcase their work internationally. <br/><br/><br/>**What youll do**<br/><br/><br/>- We work with a variety of industry partners on ‘live’ project briefs to develop your professional skills. And for you to gain an understanding of the industry. You’ll get involved in work shadowing and placements during your second year.<br/><br/><br/>- Youll be encouraged to enter competitions during the course. Many students have gone on to achieve recognition and success in national design competitions.<br/><br/><br/>- Youll have the opportunity to go on research trips in the UK and internationally. These trips are a fundamental part of developing your inspiration for project briefs.<br/><br/><br/>**Future careers**<br/><br/>This course is a great starting point for a career in surface pattern design, textile interior design or as a design maker or textile artist.<br/><br/>Our graduates have also gone on to work in printmaking, illustration and graphic design. As well as retail buying, teaching, museum conservation and trend forecasting.
