This flexible joint honours programme gives you the opportunity to study two different European languages in their diverse cultural contexts. <br/><br/>With a long history of cultural achievement, migration and diaspora, German and Portuguese are your gateway to a great many countries and cultures in Europe, South America and Africa. <br/><br/>Most of our graduates started as complete beginners in Portuguese. Through intensive language study, including a year abroad, you will have the opportunity to acquire the same level of spoken and written Portuguese as you gain in German, which you can start at beginner or more advanced level. <br/><br/>In addition to your language classes, you will explore aspects of German-language and Portuguese-speaking (Lusophone) cultures.
