The BSc (Hons) Computer Games (including Foundation Year) is a four-year degree, extendable to five with an optional year in placement or abroad.
You’ll build a strong foundation in the mechanics, concepts and techniques of computer games and in core computer science theory, preparing you to create new virtual worlds, characters and stories.
If you don’t yet meet the entry requirements for the three-year version, starting the course with a Foundation Year gives you a supported step up to university study.

<strong>The BSc (Hons) Computer Games (including Foundation Year) is a four-year degree, extendable to five with an optional year in placement or abroad.</strong><br/><br/>You’ll build a strong foundation in the mechanics, concepts and techniques of computer games and in core computer science theory, preparing you to create new virtual worlds, characters and stories.<br/><br/>If you don’t yet meet the entry requirements for the three-year version, starting the course with a Foundation Year gives you a supported step up to university study.<br/><br/><strong>WHY THIS COURSE</strong><br/><br/>The BSc (Hons) Computer Games (including Foundation Year) gives you the skills and industry-standard techniques to design and implement your very own computer games, virtual reality training and gamification.<br/><br/>You’ll spend Year Zero on the Computer Science, Electronic Engineering and Mathematics Pathway, gaining an introduction to statistical analysis and modelling as well as computer programming. Youll then choose whether to progress to the BSc (Hons) Computer Science, BSc (Hons) Computer Games, BEng (Hons) Electronic Engineering or BSc (Hons) Mathematics.<br/><br/>From Year One of BSc (Hons) Computer Games, you’ll learn from active computer scientists and engineers whose work and teaching are driven by creativity and imagination as well as technical excellence.<br/><br/>Add a placement year or study abroad to put your learning into practice, expand your perspective and build confidence in professional or international settings.<br/><br/>By graduation, you’ll have the confidence to create the outline design specification for your own computer game – then implement it. You’ll also be ready to apply your knowledge of computer games and computer science to various sectors.

GCSE Maths C/4 is also required. Offers will be made from a minimum of the equivalent of 2 full A-levels. We accept A Levels, BTECs, Access to HE Diploma, International Baccalaureate, T Levels, AAQs and most other qualifications within the UCAS Tariff. Whilst International A-levels and BTECs aren't on the tariff calculator, we assign them the same tariff points as their UK counterparts.
