Projects generally use a range of field, laboratory and analytical methods, providing excellent training and preparation for future careers.<br/><br/>Biology of taxonomic group:<br/><br/>Social insect behaviour and evolution; avian biology; mammalian biology (including equine). Recent research projects include: the thermal biology of leafcutting ants; the effect of worming treatments on horses; the incidence of disease in seabirds.<br/><br/>Microbiology and Molecular Biology:<br/><br/>Social insect behaviour and evolution; avian biology; mammalian biology (including equine). Recent research projects include: the thermal biology of leafcutting ants; the effect of worming treatments on horses; the incidence of disease in seabirds.<br/><br/>Citizen science and public engagement:<br/><br/>The use of volunteer ‘citizen science’ data in ecology and zoology; the public understanding of science.
