Wildlife Conservation Biology (with placement)

**Why Wildlife Conservation Biology?**<br/>Earth’s sixth mass extinction is underway, driven by humans at a rate far faster than that previously achieved through natural environmental changes of the past. This course will provide you with the knowledge and skills to help you contribute to the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals for rebalancing life on our planet by halting and reversing biodiversity loss. <br/><br/>You’ll join our Biosciences group – ranked 1st nationally for student experience by the Guardian and The Times University League Tables 2022.<br/><br/>Examining the interplay between wildlife disease, behaviour, crime and conflict with humans, this course takes a unique lens to the study of conservation and rewilding. <br/><br/>Through sustainable and proportionate approaches to travel, you’ll also have the opportunity to study wildlife conservation biology overseas, progressing from field training in the UK to field research on game reserves in the African savannah and in the tropical rainforests of Borneo. There is also the opportunity to spend a semester in Year 2 at partner Universities in Canada, the USA or New Zealand.<br/><br/>With a focus on small class, practical and field learning, you will be assessed entirely through coursework to gain a truly representative measure of graduate attributes sought by future employers and for postgraduate study.<br/><br/>On this 4 year degree, you will spend Year 3 on placement, gaining a significant competitive edge of experience, networking with potential employers and gaining academic credit towards your degree, all at the same time. <br/><br/>At the end, as a Gloucestershire graduate you can choose to pursue one of our postgraduate courses, receiving a priority offer and an alumni fees discount.<br/><br/>**Why University of Gloucestershire?**<br/>At University of Gloucestershire, we’ve been encouraging students to meet every ambition since 1847.
