<strong>Course Overview</strong><br/><br/>Computers have become an essential part of our daily lives. This Computer Science degree will prepare you for the many computer science jobs in the future.<br/><br/><strong>Why study with us</strong><br/><br/><br/>• After completing your second year you can undertake a one year industrial placement. Most of these are UK-based, but our students have worked as far afield as Europe, Australia, Japan and the USA.<br/><br/><br/><br/>• You’ll benefit from our international research expertise in user experience, computer security, software engineering and agile project management.<br/><br/><br/><br/>• There’s an emphasis on software development, including databases and user interface design, and optional modules covering everything from Artificial Intelligence (AI) to the Internet of Things.<br/><br/><br/><br/><strong>What you’ll do</strong><br/><br/><br/>• There’s an emphasis on practical work. You’ll develop technical skills including programming, data structure, developing databases and distributed systems.<br/><br/><br/><br/>• You’ll apply your software development skills to the challenge of developing interactive games using 3D graphics while working with clients and other developers.<br/><br/><br/><br/>• You’ll manage software projects, apply industry-standard software development techniques to modern applications, and learn to program effectively in C++.<br/><br/><br/><br/><strong>Accreditations</strong> <br/><br/><br/>• We are an Educational Member of the British Computer Society providing benefits to our students such a free BCS membership for the duration of their Computer Science course. This help connections with the tech industry through BCS mentors, enables access to bespoke events with industry experts, as well as interactive career tools include CV writer, interview simulator, personal assessments and e-learning.<br/><br/><br/><br/><strong>Future careers</strong><br/><br/>Qualifying as a Computer Scientist will open doors to a huge range of careers and enable you to make your mark as the digital revolution as it transforms every aspect of the world around us.
