Law with Portuguese LLB (Hons)

Law shapes our relationships with the state and with each other. On a degree with a 75% Law component, three‑quarters of your time is spent studying legal modules exploring the rules that govern society and their wider impact. The remaining quarter is devoted to another humanities or social‑science subject. You will study the core foundations of English law and choose optional modules in your final year to tailor your degree. Successful completion leads to an LLB (Hons), preparing you for the next stage of professional training required to qualify as a lawyer in England and Wales.<br/><br/>A Minor in Portuguese enables students to attain proficiency by graduation, through structured and immersive language training. Students develop advanced skills in writing, reading, speaking and listening in one of the world’s most important languages, spoken in Portugal, Brazil and across Africa, and sustained by dynamic heritage and diasporic communities in North America and Asia. Proficiency in Portuguese opens access to dynamic global regions and to diverse artistic traditions throughout the Portuguese-speaking world. An optional Year Abroad in Portugal or Brazil further strengthens fluency and intercultural competence, while enhancing students career prospects worldwide. <br/><br/>Combined Degrees<br/><br/>Most Combined Degrees allow you to adapt the weighting of each by 25% after the first year, helping you to keep your options open. Please note, however, students studying either a Business or Economics pathway in combination with another subject cannot increase from 25% to 50% or from 50% to 75% and it is not possible to transfer from a 50% to 75% Law.
