Guten Tag! Learning German at school may have meant a lot of vocab and navigating tricky tenses, but at uni we go beyond that. This course will allow you to bring your German up to a professional level (even those who start as beginners) while immersing yourself in German culture, history and society.

This course will allow you to bring your German up to a professional level (even those who start as beginners) while immersing yourself in German culture, history and society. <br/><br/>An integral part of the course is a year abroad in Germany or Austria. This will develop your communication skills, build your confidence and help you stand out to future employers. During this time, you may teach English in a school, undertake a work placement, study at one of our partner universities – or even choose a combination of these options. <br/><br/>You can study German at Nottingham as a beginner or as someone who has already gained an A-level in the language. If you have already achieved your EPQ at Grade A you will automatically be offered one grade lower in a non-mandatory A level subject. If you are still studying for your EPQ you will receive the standard course offer, with a condition of one grade lower in a non-mandatory A level subject if you achieve an A grade in your EPQ.

If you are still studying for your Core Maths qualification you will receive the standard course offer, and also an alternate offer with a condition of one grade lower in a non-mandatory A level subject if you achieve an A grade in your Core Maths qualification. Core Maths qualifications offered by other exam boards are also considered for an alternative offer.
