Modern Languages (French/German/Italian/Spanish) BA (Hons)

This degree is similar to our four-year BA Modern Languages course, but does not include a year abroad. The three-year degree is aimed at students who are unable to spend a year abroad because of special circumstances – contact languages@reading.ac.uk to find out more.<br/><br/>You’ll choose to study up to three of our core languages: French, German, Italian, Spanish<br/><br/>These languages are offered at intermediate and advanced level.<br/><br/>Other languages<br/><br/>Our programme also allows you to combine up to two core languages with one or two of our additional languages.<br/><br/>Choose from: Arabic, British Sign Language, Chinese (Mandarin), Modern Greek, Japanese, Russian<br/><br/>Your study options include:<br/>- one core language<br/><br/><br/>- two core languages<br/><br/><br/>- one core language plus one additional language<br/><br/><br/>- two core languages plus one additional language<br/><br/><br/>- one core language plus two additional languages<br/><br/><br/>- three core languages<br/><br/><br/>You’ll spend eight weeks on a placement in a language-rich environment to expand your language skills and develop your intercultural understanding of your language(s).
