With an ability to integrate building systems in complex design environments, they are highly-sought by architectural, planning consultancies, and developers. <br/><br/>**Learn to design a better built environment**<br/>If you’re fascinated by the science and technology behind buildings, our four-year Architectural Engineering with Foundation year course provides robust design, engineering and construction knowledge, so you can build an exceptional skill set. Led by international experts, you will explore architectural engineering at our Peel Park campus, minutes from buzzing central Manchester. You will study architectural theory and practice alongside other architecture students, delivered in our collaborative studio environment.<br/><br/>The Foundation Year pathway provides you with a solid grounding in key subjects in built environment practice, so you are ready to meet the prerequisites for studying a full degree course. Learning focuses on effective communication and study skills combined with built environment specific teaching. On successful completion of the Foundation Year, you will progress to our full BSc (Hons) Architectural Engineering degree.<br/><br/>Blending architecture and engineering disciplines, you will build a comprehensive view of the building design process from day one. You will develop both design awareness and a solid understanding of the systems integral to sustainable design. You will learn about structural principles and explore architecture theory, alongside applying tools and technologies to develop creative solutions.<br/><br/>**Get closer to industry**<br/>Reflecting real-world practice, multidisciplinary projects and innovative problem-solving activities alongside other built environment students will be at the heart of your studies.
