This course provides comprehensive knowledge and preparation for a career in policing, focusing on developing a deep understanding of the role of a police officer. You will enhance both operational and practical skills while critically examining the Criminal Justice System (CJS).<br/><br/>The programme includes opportunities to apply theory through case studies and research projects. Simulation exercises based on policing scenarios will help you develop key interpersonal skills. In your third year, you will undertake a community placement to gain practical experience.<br/><br/>Assessments are designed to showcase your ability to research information, present findings, and write academically. Tasks such as policy briefings are aligned with real-world duties that police officers encounter.<br/><br/>While this course does not guarantee entry into the police service, it is a recognised route to becoming a police constable and equips graduates with the skills needed to pursue a career in policing or other areas related to the criminal justice system.
