This gives you the chance to build on your knowledge of natural processes through an advanced research project.<br/><br/>**Understand the climate crisis, environmental pollution, and rising sea levels in the context of the diverse, intricate interactions between the Earth’s systems.**<br/><br/>Studying geography at Sheffield is your opportunity to conduct an in-depth analysis of patterns and processes in the natural environment and learn how to tackle contemporary global issues.<br/><br/>Accredited by the Royal Geographical Society, this four-year physical geography course with an integrated masters is a blend of field-based learning, independent research and technical training.<br/><br/>The first three years follow the same structure as our BSc Geography. In your fourth year, you will carry out your own advanced research project as part of an active research group. You will benefit from the expertise of a network of academics and have the chance to develop your professional and research skills.<br/><br/>Youll learn how to use geospatial techniques such as computer programming and satellite observations, and geographic information systems (GIS) to observe and monitor the Earth.<br/><br/>We use the space around us as our living laboratory: youll spend time learning in Sheffield and exploring the nearby Peak District National Park during field classes. And the University is happy to cover the costs of travel, accommodation and food to ensure everyone has the chance to take part.<br/><br/>Gain the specialist, practical and transferable skills you’ll need for your future career on our MGeogSci.
