Gain professional accreditation on the only triple-accredited undergraduate masters course of its kind in the UK.<br/><br/>Youll combine core knowledge and skills from fields as diverse as design and economics with an intellectual approach examining key issues such as climate change and urban inequalities. Ultimately you will be equipped to anticipate and shape our urban future. <br/><br/>Your first year covers the core ideas that influence planning and urban development. You will develop the skills planners need, including urban design and climate change mitigation, and typically undertake fieldwork where you will begin to analyse urban environments.<br/><br/>In your second year you will develop your understanding of concepts and practices in urbanism, spatial change and planning. This year typically includes a core field trip, which provides hands-on experience of planning issues.<br/><br/>Youll have a period of work experience in a local planning office or private sector planning consultancy before continuing to develop core knowledge and skills in your third and fourth years. You can also develop specialist interests through the dissertation and optional modules, as well as studying abroad in Europe.<br/><br/>**Accredited by the Royal Town Planning Institute (RTPI) for the purpose of fully meeting the educational requirements for Chartered Membership and by the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS). Our housing modules are also accredited by the Chartered Institute of Housing (CIH), making the MPlan the only course of its kind in the UK to offer triple professional accreditation.**
