Develop your understanding of the tools, principles and practices of the finance industry.<br/><br/>**This three-year BSc Financial Mathematics course will give you the understanding of the principles and practices of the finance industry you’ll need for a successful career.**<br/><br/>You’ll study the numerical skills and specialist knowledge you need for a career in finance, jointly delivered by the School of Mathematical and Physical Sciences, School of Economics and Management School.<br/><br/>In your first year you’ll gain the best possible grounding by focusing on fundamental mathematical and financial concepts. You’ll cover essential topics such as calculus, algebra and data science; develop programming skills using Python and R; and learn to present your work using LaTeX. In addition to core mathematics modules, you’ll also choose to take either an economics or finance pathway.<br/><br/>In your second year, you’ll develop your mathematical skill set further, which you can apply to increasingly complex problems. You’ll also examine more advanced topics in economics or finance, such as microeconomics, macroeconomics, econometrics and corporate finance.<br/><br/>In your final year, you’ll continue to explore key topics in financial mathematics.
