This course is for year 1 entry only.<br/>If you are interested in applying for advanced entry into years 2 or 3, you need 6B27.<br/><br/>The BA Sports Journalism course at the University of South Wales helps you turn your passion for sport into a career, with hands-on newsroom experience, real industry opportunities, and the skills to tell powerful, ethical stories that matter in today’s fast-moving media world.<br/><br/>If you love sport and storytelling, this course helps you build the skills to become a sports journalist. You’ll learn by doing, working in real newsroom environments while exploring how sport connects with culture, society, and communities. <br/><br/>This course gives you practical experience across digital, broadcast, and print media, with live reporting, industry projects, and support from experienced journalists. You’ll develop confidence, creativity, and professional skills, while learning to report responsibly, look after your wellbeing, and use sport journalism to make a positive impact. <br/><br/>The course is built around strong industry partnerships with organisations including BBC Wales, Sky Sports News, ITV Wales, Media Wales, the Football Association of Wales, and the Welsh Rugby Union. You’ll benefit from placement opportunities, live briefs, and real press box access, working directly with professional and community clubs while building bylines, practical experience, and valuable industry contacts.
