Language tutorials typically have 10 to 14 students. <br/><br/><br/><br/>• Advanced modules in later years help all students establish a sound knowledge and use of Spanish. <br/><br/><br/><br/><strong>Explore global Spanish-language literature and culture</strong> <br/><br/>You will explore global Spanish-language literature and culture alongside your language studies. Optional cultural studies modules reflect St Andrews’ contemporary and interdisciplinary approach to Spanish studies. Recent optional modules include: <br/><br/><br/>• Action Heroes and Anti-Heroes in Early-Modern Spain <br/><br/><br/><br/>• Mexico in the 19th Century <br/><br/><br/><br/>• Autobiographical Writing in 20th-Century Spain <br/><br/><br/><br/>• Representations of the Urban: 20th-Century Buenos Aires <br/><br/><br/><br/>• Women and Emancipation(s) in Colombian Cinema <br/><br/><br/><br/>• Gender and Mobilities in Latin American Contemporary Literature <br/><br/><br/><br/><strong>Integrated year abroad option and study abroad placements</strong> <br/><br/>You can combine your Spanish studies with time abroad to further develop linguistic skills, intercultural knowledge, and self-confidence. Options include: <br/><br/><br/>• Working for a year in a Spanish-speaking country. <br/><br/><br/><br/>• A shorter period studying at a partner institution in Spain, Uruguay, Canada, or the USA. <br/><br/><br/><br/><strong>Study Spanish with other languages or subjects</strong> <br/><br/>You can take Spanish as a single-subject honours degree or combine it with another subject that best reflects your academic interests and career plans. <br/><br/><br/>• You can take Spanish with one or two other languages or Comparative Literature as part of a double- or triple-languages honours degree. <br/><br/><br/><br/>• Many students combine Spanish with another subject such as Economics, Geography, International Relations, or Management as part of a joint honours degree. <br/><br/>
