This will offer practical and theoretical perspectives. Students will gain a thorough grounding in the principles and procedures of English Criminal Law with a focus on the practices of presenting, analysing and evaluating evidence. <br/>The course will make use of the insights of psychology to deepen your understanding of the practical application of witness testimony and other evidence. You will be able to explore the research evidence that relates to witness evidence. Our psychology labs and mock courtroom will be used to test and develop ideas about the impact on context on the reliability of testimony and evidence.<br/>• Students will apply their knowledge in mock court hearings which are integrated into the<br/>course in a range of different roles and contexts;<br/>• Students will have the opportunity to develop expertise in the use of specialist equipment<br/>in our psychology labs to evaluate witness testimony<br/>• The course will be taught by specialist lecturers in Law, Criminology and Psychology to<br/>enable students to develop expertise in criminal law, evidence and procedure.
