You’ll build strong foundations in mathematics, studying topics including:

You’ll also have the flexibility to follow the areas of mathematics that inspire you most. This could include topics such as mathematical biology, cryptography, data science research methods and machine learning.

At Sussex, you’ll join our supportive Mathematics community and learn from our Education Department. You’ll be taught by experts whose research is making a real impact in many different fields. From how diseases spread to flood prediction and how ideas move across social media. You’ll undertake projects that bring together ideas from across your degree to tackle real-world problems in education.

Throughout your degree, you’ll gain school experience. When you successfully complete your course, you’ll be guaranteed an interview for the PGCE at Sussex, a course that qualifies you as a secondary Mathematics teacher. You’ll also graduate with knowledge and skills valued beyond the classroom, including communication, teamwork, data analysis, coding and problem-solving.
