Then our BA Events Management programme is designed to take your knowledge and skills to the next level. <br/><br/>You’ll learn about managing projects, budgets and risk management and other operational skills needed to stage events and will develop your understanding of the important role that events have in communities at a local national and international level. <br/><br/>Experience ways that events can be managed to achieve sustainability goals and have a positive impact on society. With close industry partnerships and regular guest lectures from events professionals, the content delivered on this programme aims to provide you with insight and experience of best practice across a range of events sectors, including business events, conferences, sports, music and a range of community festivals. <br/><br/>Programme Highlights <br/><br/>Volunteering and work-related opportunities are offered throughout the programme to help you develop practical skills and learn from professionals <br/><br/>Events management techniques from a variety of different sectors are studied to provide you with relevant skills sought after by employers. <br/><br/>Unique to the BA Events Management programme, the Festival Curriculum is designed to bring students from different years together to plan and stage your own live event project. <br/><br/>Industry links and guest lectures from experienced professionals ensure teaching and assessments remains up-to-date and relevant. <br/><br/>Programme Details <br/><br/>The programme initially focuses on the development of operational and managerial skills across a range of events industry sectors, including project management, legislation and risk management – all essential skills for the professional events manager. <br/><br/>You’ll gain in-depth knowledge and practical experience of event management processes through volunteering activities and working with other students on staging a live event as part of the Festival Curriculum. Gaining insight into consumers and their behaviour is an important part of the programme at all levels. <br/><br/>The final years look to global aspects, the future and advances in the events industry. Further specialised study includes the comparison of international events issues and analysis of event impacts in a global context. <br/><br/>Careers <br/><br/>From conference management and organising product launches, to running charity fundraising events, the BA (Hons) Events Management programme will open up a range of exciting career paths. <br/><br/>Graduates from this programme have gone on to secure positions in venues including the OVO Hydro, conference and convention centres, sports facilities, including Ibrox, Parkhead and Hampden, and worked as part of large scale events like the Commonwealth Games, the Olympics and various fundraising and event roles for charities.
