We want to see you challenge design orthodoxy and pre-conceptions and to appreciate the possibilities of contemporary communication technologies across multiple media channels.

There is a strong emphasis on professional skills development and employability. The programme explicitly seeks to develop specific skills and competences to meet local, regional and national employer’s needs to prepare you to undertake roles at higher technician and professional levels. Much learning is concerned with the professional understanding and orientation of commercial design briefs and individually determined self-initiated projects. This is expressed through the assembly of a design portfolio and a public exhibition of work through a degree show at the end of course.
