University Alliance brings together a group of global universities that have a keen interest in science, technology and design.

The University Alliance is an association of British universities, which was formed in 2006. The University Alliance focuses on improving growth and innovation in the UK, with specific focus on business and industry links and with applied research.

The University Alliance has delivered 39% of the UK’s sandwich degrees and 43% of the courses offered by the alliance are accredited by professional bodies.

What is the University Alliance?

The University Alliance is a group of universities that is made up of technical and professional universities; the group drives growth and innovation across the UK, by using research, teaching and enterprise activities.

The universities in the University Alliance are leaders in their relationships with industry partners and with employers. These relationships have allowed the group to tailor their curriculum to what the industry requirements of that time are.

There are also other university groups such as Million+, GuildHE, the 1994 Group and the Cathedral’s Group.

There are other university groups besides the University Alliance. The Russell Group of Universities is a prestigious university group that is a collection of some of the most well-respected universities in the country.

What is the Doctoral Training Alliance?

The Doctoral Training Alliance (DTA) is a programme coordinated by the University Alliance designed to help with PhD funding.

The programme also offers enhanced training programmes and a useful support network and is spread across all twelve universities in the alliance. The DTA is also considered to be the largest nationwide doctoral training programme in the UK, which also takes advantage of the Marie Skłodowska-Curie COFUND Doctoral Fellowship programme.

Specifically, the DTA focuses on advanced technical, generic skills and subject-specific skills with a massive focus on critical reasoning and more.
