With our practical learning approach, we'll teach you the fundamentals of food, nutrition and exercise, including:
* Food handling skills.
* The functionality of raw and cooked food ingredients.
* The key social issues in nutrition, sport and exercise.
* The nutritional needs throughout an individual’s lifespan.
Flexible pathway degree
For the first two years, everyone takes Food Science, Nutrition and Wellbeing as a foundation. After that, you can specialise in other areas if you want to or carry on studying this pathway.
If you want to study a wide-ranging and flexible degree, then Abertay is for you. This is ideal for secondary school leavers, entrants from further education colleges, and mature students. This course is aligned with the General Teaching Council (GTC) requirements for the PG Diploma in Home Economics teaching if that’s your graduation plan.
