Course Information
Step into the world of live performance and technical theatre with our BA (Hons) Stage Management and Technical Theatre degree. This practical, industry-focused course prepares you for essential backstage roles in theatre, live events, and entertainment.

You’ll explore pathways in Stage Management, Production Management, Lighting Design, and Sound Design, gaining hands-on experience in our professional Northbrook Theatre and Studio 21. From scheduling and budgeting to coordinating productions and managing technical teams, you’ll develop the skills needed to ensure smooth, safe, and successful performances.

Training combines traditional techniques with cutting-edge technology, including ETC ION lighting desks, Digico SD Series sound consoles, advanced AV systems, and full rigging facilities. Collaboration is central to the course—you’ll work on live productions alongside other creative disciplines, building a strong portfolio and professional network.

Our graduates have gone on to work with leading organisations such as the Royal Opera House, National Theatre, and West End productions including Hamilton, Wicked, and War Horse, as well as festivals, touring companies, and TV/film projects.
