Train as a multi-faceted performer for stage and screen with drama school-level intensity — outside of London.
The programme is designed by working industry professionals to reflect the realities of today’s performance landscape. As a member of the Federation of Drama Schools, we offer students high-quality drama school training without the need to relocate to London.
This intensive, professionally accredited course offers 30 hours of contact time each week, with a core focus on developing your voice, characterisation and physicality. You'll apply these skills through performances for both stage and screen, and explore contemporary, collaborative and innovative approaches to performance-making.
At The Northern School of Art, we believe actors should graduate not only ready to work — but ready to shape the future of the industry. That’s why this programme also supports the development of your own creative practice, with a strong emphasis on vocational training and cross-disciplinary collaboration. You’ll work alongside students in film, costume, production design, VFX and more — reflecting how the industry operates in the real world.
Graduates are eligible for Spotlight membership and benefit from public performance opportunities at regional venues including Stockton ARC.
This creative-industry-focused programme typically provides 30 hours of contact time per week across the academic year. Students also have open access to studios and workshops for independent study (subject to School opening times and availability).
In addition, students are expected to undertake independent study appropriate to a full-time undergraduate degree programme.
