This course provides a thorough grounding in all aspects of electrical and electronic engineering and combines the hardware and software subject areas demanded by the industry.<br/><br/>This award has the following general educational aims:<br/><br/>a) To develop a broad level of understanding of electrical and electronic engineering principles, mathematics and programming.b) To develop the ability to apply knowledge and skills gained to the solution of to a broad range of engineering problems.c) To develop the ability to assimilate and communicate information in a variety of ways including ICT.d) To prepare a student for the world of work or enhance their career prospects within existing employment through the development of a broad range of practical, personal and transferable skills.e) To make the student aware of responsibilities associated with health and safety, business, management, environmental and sustainability issues at a broad level.<br/><br/>Successful candidates will be able to perform technical duties in posts demanding a detailed understanding of electrical and electronic engineering. They should be able to design, develop, manufacture, maintain and manage applications of current and developing technology at a high level.
