A level
Must include grade B in Spanish for the post A-level language pathway. There is no required subject for the ab initio pathway. Please note that A-level General Studies, Critical Thinking, Thinking Skills and Global Perspectives are not accepted by King's as one of your A levels.

Scottish Higher
Must be a combination of three Scottish Highers and two Scottish Advanced Highers. We do not count the Higher and Advanced Higher in the same subject.
Access to HE Diploma
offer-distinction: 33.0, offer-merit: 12.0, offer-pass: 0.0
The Access to Higher Education Diploma must be 60 credits in total with 45 Level 3 credits. 33 Level 3 credits must be awarded at Distinction and 12 at Merit. Applicants for the post A-level language pathway must also have 15 credits in Spanish awarded at Distinction or offer an academic qualification equivalent to A-level grade B in Spanish, or take the DELE (Diploma de Espanol - Nivel Superior B2) through the Instituto Cervantes. There is no Spanish language requirement for the ab initio pathway.
Scottish Advanced Higher
Must include grade B in Advanced Higher Spanish if entering the post A-level language pathway. No Spanish required for the ab initio pathway. Must be combined with three Scottish Highers. We do not count the Higher and Advanced Higher in the same subject.
International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme
35 points overall or an aggregate score of 17 from three Higher Levels. There is no required subject for the Ab Initio pathway. Must include grade 5 in Higher Level Spanish for the standard pathway. No language is required if entering the ab initio pathway. The total point score of 35 includes TOK/EE.
Pearson BTEC Level 3 National Extended Diploma (first teaching from September 2016)

Leaving Certificate - Higher Level (Ireland) (first awarded in 2017)
