The CertHE AI Applications in Business introduces you to one of the technologies having the greatest impact on the way organisations work, compete and create value. The course is designed for students who are interested in AI but want to understand it through a business and organisational lens rather than through a traditional computer science pathway.

You will explore how AI can support productivity, customer experience, innovation, decision-making and organisational performance. You will develop an understanding of generative AI and automation while considering the opportunities, limitations and responsibilities associated with using AI in organisations.

The course focuses on application. Rather than simply learning about AI, you will consider how businesses can identify useful applications, design practical solutions and evaluate whether technology is genuinely creating value.

Alongside digital capability, you will develop human skills such as communication, creativity, critical thinking and judgement. These capabilities are essential when organisations introduce technologies that affect people, processes and decisions.

The CertHE provides a foundation for progression to the BSc (Hons) AI Applications in Business or entry-level roles where digital and business capability are increasingly valuable.
